Location: On the A56 Chester Road, Helsby, on the left- hand side of the road opposite to Godscroft Lane when travelling in the direction of Hapsford, and prior to Helsby High School.

Enforcement Length: Enforcement runs between Old Chester Road to just east of Godscroft Lane

SPEED LIMIT: 40 mph

Notes: This camera joined the National Safety Camera Programme in February 2005. Within this stretch of road there have been 8 collisions over 3 years resulting in 12 casualties. Speed surveys show that 43% of traffic exceeds the speed limit.The aim of the camera is to ensure compliance with the the 40 mph speed limit whilst travelling from high-speed rural roads prior to the school and a sharp bend in the road.
