Camera type: Static speed camera.

Location: A56 Preston Brook, Runcorn on the left-hand side of the road when travelling in the direction of junction 11 of the M56, and opposite Aston Lane.

Enforcement Length: Runs from near Aston Lane, (north-east direction) to the Post Office, Preston on the Hill.

SPEED LIMIT: 30 MPH

Notes: This camera joined the National Safety Camera Programme in  March 2002. Within this stretch of road there have been five collisions over three years resulting in eight casualties. Speed surveys show that 75% of traffic exceeds the speed limit. The aim of the camera is ensure compliance with the 30mph speed limit, on a downhill gradient in an urban area, subject to significant numbers of industrial and business use.
