Location: 1) A562 Speke Road, Widnes located on on the left-hand side of the road, after the junction with A5300 Knowsley Road, when travelling in the direction of Widnes.  (2) A562 Speke Road, Widnes on the left-hand side of the road, prior to its junction with A5300 Knowsley Road, when travelling in the direction of Liverpool.

Enforcement Length: Runs from Everite Road to Ditton Island (for both cameras).

SPEED LIMIT: Both 70 mph (HGV Traffic: 50 mph)

Notes: These cameras joined the National Safety Camera Programme in  April 2003. (1) Within this stretch of road there have been 10 collisions over 3 years resulting in 17 casualties. Speed surveys show that 9% of traffic exceeds the speed limit. (2) Within this stretch of road there have been 6 collisions over 3 years resulting in 18 casualties. Speed surveys show that 9% of traffic exceeds the speed limit. The aim of these cameras is to ensure compliance with the 70 mph speed limit on a dual carriageway road. This road is subject to significant HGV traffic (with 50 mph limit).
