Reviewing who, where, when and how crashes occur, is very important to us.

This information tells us the age, gender and home postcode of the driver (and passengers - if any) involved in a road crash, whether the driver has a valid driving licence and vehicle insurance, the exact location, time and date of the incident, the weather/road conditions present, and a whole lot more.

In addition to this, we look at peoples' attitudes and perceptions via focus groups, questionnaires and national research. Understanding why people decide to behave in a particular manner is helpful in developing educational messages that they can relate to.

All this information compiled, helps us to make the best use of our resources.

In educating, engineering and enforcing, where it is needed the most, we can be sure that we are saving as many lives as possible.
